On June 3, 2001 Gayle and Devin were on their way to his school in Williamstown to get his French book. A young man was returning from a track meet and lunch with a friend in Williamstown when he fell asleep at the wheel of his father's truck. Gayle saw the truck coming in enough time to turn the car and shield Devin who was at the time twelve years old. Devin sustained 10 breaks and fractures, Gayle 123. After being heliported to Albany Med, a month in ICU, a month in a regular room, four months in a nursing home and five months in a hospital bed in our living room, she began to come back to us. "There's only so many Lifetime movies a girl can watch," she said one day. And so the jewelry making began in May of 2003. Devin played soccer again after one year, and Gayle is walking on the average ten minutes a day awaiting her tenth surgery. Her passion for life is evident in the way she lives her life and that same passion goes into every dowser and every piece of jewelry that she creates.

GAYLE UPDATE!! In March '05, Gayle started taking riding lessons at The Equus Center in Williamstown, MA. Her intructor, Joe Healy, also teaches adaptive skiing at Bromley in Vermont. Although her shoulder hurts constantly, she will put that surgery off until the very last! We're still spending a lot of time working on the book, "Accidental Journey"! It's a long hard but healing process. We were written up in our local paper. Wonderful article! READ IT! It's almost March '06 and Gayle is now learning dressage at the request of a woman who boards her horse in Williamstown. She saw how well Gayle was riding and asked her to take her lessons on HER horse Mirage. It has proven to be her best PT ever and has made a big difference in her own gait. It is much smoother now. Although she can walk, most of her days are spent in bed. She can only walk for about ten minutes at a time.

Now in '08, we have finished the book "Accidental Journey" and are actively seeking an agent/publisher. Visit the website for excerpts from the book. We also have a short film on YouTube that we hope will help driver's make better decisions. Driving is a full time job!YouTube!

We have also devoted a website to the jewelry of Gayle and Jess. Take a peek!
