SCHOOLS |
There are many schools of Feng Shui in the Eastern tradition as well as forms of Feng Shui in other cultures. In India it is called Vahtsu and is an ancient way of arranging your space so that you feel protected and serene. All schools of Feng Shui borrow from the oldest tradition, Form School. We teach Form School and Black Hat, also called Black Sect, every week at Canyon Ranch in Lenox, MA. Black Hat is the Buddhist style of Feng Shui and is less complicated than Compass School, nor does it require the services of a Chinese Astrologer to be accurate. We recommend that you not attempt Compass until you have a good understanding of Form and Black Hat. Learning Feng Shui, like most studies, should be taken in small bites. It is wonderfully endless and bound to delight as well as transform. Take your time, and experiment with what you learn. Try things before you move on to the next topic.

This is where Gayle went for her certification. Amy and Susan brought in some of the finest teachersin the world. When Gayle was in an accident, they went to extremes to be supportive. Gayle had attended only three weekends when the accident interupted her education. While in the hospital, Amy and Susan introduced her before every class began and said a brief prayer for her recovery. When Gayle was able to return to classes, she was surprised that everyone seemed to know her even though most of her original class had already graduated. Here are some photos you might enjoy. The New England School of Feng Shui has undergone some changes recently but is still amazing.

Our Favorite Teachers |
|
We have many favorite teachers, each for different reasons. You will never find a more gracious, passionate, and scholarly person than Meihwa Lin. Not only is she generous with her time and knowledge, she gives passionately from her heart. Her book The Learning Annex Presents Feng Shui is not for beginners, but a must read when you are more advanced. Not only is her understanding of Feng Shui impeccable, but she is outstanding in her knowledge and use of Chinese Astrology. The first book we ever read was Move Your Stuff, Change Your Life, by Karen Rauch Carter. It had us on the floor with laughter and revelations. We have talked through eMail and are still waiting to meet her. In our lectures we say, "Move Your Stuff..." is the ONLY book you'll ever NEED. All the rest, you will WANT!" You will not find the glossy photos so enticing from other texts, but her stick figures will certainly drive her points home quickly! Eric Dowsett blew us away. His knowledge of Ch'i and how it effects the space around you is worth a trip to wherever he is teaching. The idea of creating your own personal sacred space and clearing that space of old baggage is powerful. His sometimes humorous experiences are delightful, and it enchanting to watch him work with negative energies, ghosts, and lay lines. Today we have shows like The Dead Zone, The Medium, and the Ghost Whisperer, but they pale to Eric's knowledge and experiences. His Australian accent is a big plus. RD Chen is the personification of Feng Shui. To be in his presence leaves you peaceful and in awe of Feng Shui and it's history. RD is a humble third generation Asian american who, as an budding architect, knew nothing of Feng Shui. He has traveled extensively and studied with the Masters. He is aman of great integerity, always bringing the student as well as the client back to their intent. His book, Feng Shui Revealed is packed with innovative ideas and stunning photography. Gill Hale is a blast. Her dynamism and creativity is evident in every word she utters. She takes a practical approach to Feng Shui and is the Queen of Feng Shui in the garden. We adore Zen & The Art of Gardening and to study and trek with her is an experience to treasure. Steven Post is the King of dispersing negative Ch'i using Swarovski crystal in powerful ways. His understanding of Ch'i and how we can manipulate it to our benefit is outstanding and well represented in The Modern Book of Feng Shui. He was one of the first Westerners to bring Feng Shui to the United States and should be creditieed for his courage and foresight. |
